The Alter Wirt Restaurant kitchen is distinguished by its consistent quality and exclusive use of fresh ingredients. We know each of our suppliers and their farms in person and have been buying directly from them for many years now – regional and personal. Like the Alter Wirt, all of our suppliers are certified organic . Another extremely important factor is that all of our dishes are prepared entirely by hand on site with a love of and an expert understanding of the ingredients and how to process them. Fruit and vegetables taste best when grown and harvested at the right time in the right place. Which is why we seek out products that are typical of our region and are able to offer you tasty and totally fresh specialities all year round.

Staying at the Alter Wirt

Naturally, you can stay here overnight, relax and be pampered and start your day with a really great breakfast. The Alter Wirt comprises 50 comfortable rooms equipped with baths or showers and toilets en suite, hairdryers, free fast Wi-Fi, DVB-C LCD-TV and direct-dial telephones. The Alter Wirt in Grünwald was the first and is still the only eco-hotel in and around Munich and has been for 12 years! We can accommodate up to 100 overnight guests 365 days of the year.

It’s best to arrange an appointment with us so we can consult with you face-to-face. Ideally, events and menus should be finalised three weeks in advance of the scheduled date at the latest.
